Tri-Line Carriers LP has a long history in the North American trucking marketplace. The company was founded on April 15, 1964, through the amalgamation of Good Wood Truck Lines Ltd., Whitnack Trucking Ltd., and Adanac Freightlines Ltd into one company with a terminal facility in Calgary , Alberta . This formed the foundation on which the company expanded across Canada and the United States .
In the late 1980's the company went public, allowing it to further expand it's services, however the reputation of quality service and trustworthy terminal staff remains high among Tri-Line's vast number of customers.

Tri-Line is now a part of the Contrans Income Fund, a group of transportation companies including such reputable carriers as Laidlaw Carriers and Brookville Carriers.
